Good health and nutrition are essential to the holistic wellbeing of children, their families and communities. BAHO Family Organisation's health, nutrition, hygiene and sanitation programme targets pregnant girls, young women, lactating single mothers and children, ensuring every child has access to an adequate diet.
Working alongside Community Health Workers attached to local nutrition groups, BAHO Family delivered hands-on sessions teaching single mothers how to prepare a balanced diet using affordable, locally available food at the household level.
During the sessions, many participants shared that they are living under difficult circumstances, at times harassed by relatives or denied access to household essentials such as soap, clothing and bedding, leaving them struggling to feed themselves and their children. These testimonies are directly informing BAHO Family's next phase of household-level support.
